There are 5 types of sentences in English.

1. Assertive Sentence.
   Assertive sentences are divided into 2 parts.
   1. Affirmative.
   2. Negative.
2. Interrogative Sentence.
3. Imperative Sentence.
4. Optative Sentence.
5. Exclamatory Sentence.

Below are some easy ways to recognize any sentence very easily.

Subject > Verb < Object

যেখান থেকে Preposition শুরু হবে, সেখান থেকে Extension শুরু মনে রাখতে হবে।

1. Assertive:
   • যদি বাক্যের গঠন এরকম ( subject + verb + object ) হয়, সে ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যটি Assertive হবে।
2. Interrogative:
   • বাক্যের শেষে কোশ্চেন মার্ক ( ? ) থাকলে, সে ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যটি Interrogative হবে।
3. Imperative:
   • যদি বাক্যে কোন Subject না থাকে, তবে সে ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যটি Imperative হবে।
     • Imperative বাক্যে কোন Subject থাকে না ।
     • সব সময় Verb এর Base Form বসে অর্থাৎ V1 বসে।
     • বাক্যের শুরুতে Please, Kindly, Don’t, Always, Never, Let এই শব্দগুলো দিয়ে শুরু হলে অথবা Main Verb দ্বারা শুরু হলে, সে ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যটি অবশ্যই Imperative হবে।

4. Optative:
   • যদি বাক্যের প্রথমে May / Long ধারা শুরু হয়, তবে সে ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যটি Optative হবে।
   • May / Long / Have = এগুলো দ্বারা Wish করা Optative বোঝালে হবে।
5. Exclamatory:
   • বাক্যের শেষে Exclamation mark ( ! ) থাকলে, বাক্যটি Exclamatory হবে।

Note: Imperative এবং Optative Sentence এ সবসময় Verb এর Base Form অর্থাৎ V1 হবে।

2. Aren’t you going to school?
3. Don’t you know me?
4. Go to school.
5. Let us make a plan.
6. Please help me.
7. Stand up.
8. Don’t believe a liar.
9. Always speak the truth.
10. May Allah help you.
11. Long live our parents.
12. What a beautiful garden it is!
